Overview

Lonestar automated welding was sub-contracted by McConnell Dowell/CCC to perform automated welding on Australian Pacific LNG pipeline, Gladstone, Australia. Automated Welding was required for 1 component of welding scope including the main pipeline tie-ins and string welding.
Specialised welding labour was introduced for the project through Lonestar which was used for automated fill and cap welding. Process type was outer-shield flux cored welding.
MCJV provided pipe movements & end preparation of 42 inch pipe. An electrode root and hot pass was performed using an external clamp. Lonestar Automated Welding was responsible for Auto Flux Cored Filling and Cap welding passes to weld specification AS2885.
